Bio: Devayani was born on 22 June 1974 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India; she was born with the name of Sushma Jayadev but later she popular by her Screen name Devayani. In the family members of Devayani are her parents Jayadev and Lakshmi as well as her brothers Mayur and Nakul. Devayani is popular in all over India by her professions of Singing and Acting in Tamil movies.
Devayani started her Television career in 1993 when she started working in her debut serial in Bengali Language named Shaat Ponchomi. After that she worked in many other popular serials and movies that made by many best industries such as Bengali, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. The first Bengali movie in which Devayani worked was Thushor Kho Thuli. The best serial of Devayani are Dil Ka Doctor, Three Men Army, Chhota Sa Ghar, Kalloori Vaasal, Kaadhal Kottai, Thotta Chinungi, Kinnam Katta Kallan, Kaathil Oru Kinnaram, Surya Vamsam, Udhavikku Varalaamaa, Pudhumai Pithan, Nilave Mugam Kaattu, Vallarasu, Ennammaa Kannu, Vinnukum Mannukum, Ninaikkaadha Naalillai and many more serials that gave her huge reputation in all over India.
Devayani also worked in some movies such as Muthaaram, Kodi Mullai, Manjal Magimai and Kolangal. The movies in which Devayani worked were only in Tamil Language but her serials in many languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Bengali, Malayalam and Kannada. Devayani spent a very brilliant period in Indian Cinema by working in many top serials and movies and she got a very big status because of that. The Appreciated work of Devayani made her the winner of some Awards as well by her movies.
Devayani won many Awards for Best film actress in 1996-1997 and 2000 by her movies kathal kottai, soorya vamsam and bharathi. Beside this she won Best Television actress Award, Vivel Chinna Thirai Awards, Big FM Tamil Entertainment Awards and Sun Kudumbam Best Actress Award in her career.
