Bio: Anu Prabhakar was born on 9 November in Bangalore, Karnataka, India; M.V Prabhakar was the father of Anu Prabhakar who was a Dubbing Artist and her mother named Gayathri Prabhakar was an actress. Anu Prabhakar got her early education in her born place the name of the school was Nirmala Rani High School that was located in Malleshwaram.

Anu Prabhakar started her filmy career in 1990 when she acted in her debut movie named Chapala Chennigaraya; it was a Kannada made movie but Anu Prabhakar played a child artist role in it. After starting her journey she acted in many movies during 1990-2013 but the career is still on.

Anu Prabhakar worked in round about 60 movies that contain Kannada and Tamil movies. The top and well appreciated movies of Anu Prabhakar are Shaapa in 2001, Annayya Tammayya in 2002, Annai Kaligambal in 2003,         Preethi Nee Illade Naa Hyagirali in 2004, Kanakaambari in 2005, Saavira Meetilu in 2006, Prarambha in 2007,   Mussanje Maathu in 2008, Bhagyada Balegara in 2009, Pareekshe in 2010, KO KO in 2011, Samsaradalli Golmaal in 2012 and Sakkare in 2013.

Anu Prabhakar also worked in Indian Television serials such as Bale Bangara, Home Minister, Shrimati Karnataka, Manju Musukida Haadi and Nooru Dinagalu. Anu Prabhakar is one of those actress that was awarded of ‘Abhinaya Saraswathi’ for her many and different performances in various movies.

Anu Prabhakar was nominated in 2008 for Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress by her movie named Mussanje Maathu. She won 2 awards in 2001 & 2010 by her movies Shaapa and Pareekashe. Anu Prabhakar got married in 2002 with Krishna Kumar; they spent a happy life for 12 years and finally at 1 January 2014 she was divorced. The career of Anu Prabhakar is still in progress and soon she will act in her new movie.
